In Memoriam Redux
Sadly, we lost CH Tansy Hill Please Prudence O'NT "Prudy" to a sudden heart attack this week at the age of 11. Prudy had made it to the exalted rank of "house dog" along with her buddy "Agnes". You can talk about your Bergerie Knur Trophy all you want but to our Pyrs, "house dog" is much better. It calls for being Mom's security unit and that comes with dining and couch privileges as well as bragging rights to the kennel crew. Prudy did her job very well and her "Watusi" wiggle will be greatly missed. She was one of Randi Smith's girls and we thank her for giving us one sweet dog. 11/30/07
An idea for our GPCA Board of Directors and website manager
Having to acquire several grave markers lately for our dogs, I am struck by again and again having to explain to pet memorial companies what a Great Pyrenees is. Few have stock engravings in their computers. They are very happy to do a photo but at exorbitant rates. It would be cheap and helpful to have a couple of generic heads and full bodies without any wording on the GPCA website which the Board could completely vet so that members could have free use for things like this or to create their own logos. Something cheap and useful for the membership, o' Board members???????? 11/30/07
Draft dog titles from the AKC
There is a possibility of the AKC coming around to recognizing draft as a legitmate competitive event. Those of us in draft would appreciate any support anybody out there could give this movement. If anyone has a moment with an AKC rep, mentioning this to them would be helpful. Christine Palmer-Person may have more info on this. 11/30/07
